Google, in his philosophy to expend its Cloud presence through the globe, is now present in Sydney. The company has previously announced that it would have a new region in Australia, and is more and more confirming its intention to reduce the gap between it competitors, AWS and Azure.
Like most of Google Cloud Platform zones, the Sydney region will have three availability zones and will offer all the common and core GCP services like like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Load Balancer, Cloud DNS and Cloud VPN. However, services like App Engine, the globally distributed Cloud Spanner database service, Cloud Functions, Bigtable and a few other ones are still not available and there is no official announcement from Google on where they will be, but I guess we will see them arrive most likely very shortly.
You can have more information about the services offered by this region on this link.
